JOB SUMMARY
College Connections Hawaii (CCH) is a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the educational opportunity for all people in Hawaii. CCH is seeking Professional Tutors to work with students of all ages statewide. Tutors will implement the strategic tutoring method, focusing on teaching learning strategies in order to successfully manage future work without a tutor. Once hired and trained, CCH's Professional Tutors will be assigned students as they request tutoring from CCH.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Promote the CCH mission, philosophy and values in all interactions with students, parents, school staff and others.
• Inspire, motivate, and encourage students regardless of ability level.
• Schedule and re-schedule tutoring sessions with all assigned students/parents.
• Arrive at every session early and create a productive tutoring atmosphere.
• Maintain a record of students' progress, feedback and school performance.
• Communicate with students' parents via email/phone/mail, as required.
• Immediately inform CCH of any concerns with tutoring sessions or discrepancies in time worked.
• Maintain absolute confidentiality of all students' academic and personal information.
• Attend all training and relevant CCH meetings.
• Other responsiblilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent for all others
• One year of professional teaching or tutoring experience
• Email and Internet skills
• Daily access to the internet
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master's Degree or Teaching Certificate
• Mastery of specialized subjects such as advanced math, science, foreign languages, etc.
