Is my child on track?
This is a question that most parents ask us, as well as "What should we be doing now?" Preparing for college is a multi-step process that can start in kindergarten or even earlier. Our College Prep Timeline is organized by school grade and features the appropriate stages that will keep your child on track and thoroughly prepared for college.
Is CCH supportive of schools, counselors, and teachers?
Absolutely. CCH partners with over 60 public and private schools each year to reach students of all backgrounds and income levels. Our organization exists to support and supplement the work schools do every day. Almost 95% of CCH's staff and contractors are teachers or counselors in the schools. We value our professional relationships with teachers, principals, counselors, and college admissions and financial aid staff. As an independent nonprofit organization, CCH is always looking for new partnerships with our colleagues in schools and colleges.
Where does CCH get its funding?
The more funds CCH brings in, the greater our capacity to change students' lives. Our funding comes from contracts, grants, program fees, and donations. CCH has contracts with the Hawaii Department of Education and the University of Hawaii system, which pay for services for low-income students. CCH also receives monies from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, the federal Native Hawaiian Education Act and the No Child Left Behind Act. Some of our programs require tuition. We are proud to participate in the Aloha United Way and Hawaii Self Storage’s Rent2Charity programs. And cash donations we receive directly from individuals help us to create more educational opportunity for Hawaii’s students. Consider making a tax-deductible donation online today!
